Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American dancer, actress and singer since the early 1990s. The first Broadway roles are Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. For her role as Essie In You Can't Take It With You she won the Tony Award. Tony Award-winning actor Annaleigh Ashford is a veteran of her career working alongside renowned actors and directors across theatre and on television. she will continue that project with various upcoming ones. Ashford's next project will be an exclusive Hulu series called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show will premiere on the 22nd of November and Ashford is starring alongside Kumail Najiani. Ashford's current film includes the Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust which he is starring in with Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. The film is scheduled to air on Disney DTC as a Hulu Original. In March of 2023 Ashford will make a return appearance on Broadway and play alongside Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. This show will be led by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team which created Hamilton. Ashford was last seen as Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. The show centers around the National Crisis which put Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp as the central figure in the first impeachment proceeding in America during the Over an Century. Her two seasons on CBS comedy B Positive was her first big part. In addition, she appeared on the popular series developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, with the legendary actresses Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. A veteran of Broadway Ashford has won both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her character Essie. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the character that was originally played by Lauren of Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway roles. Ashford was born and raised in Denver and currently splits her life between Los Angeles, and New York.
